Ian Hamilton Finlay
My first collaboration with Ian Hamilton Finlay was a large project at Stockwood Park, Luton. This led to further collaborations over twenty years, encompassing large works in stone, sundials, plaques, neons, inscriptions for wooden poles, stone and wooden benches and very small lettering cut into folding wooden 'icons'. I designed lettering for printed works for the Wild Hawthorn Press and contributed work to his garden Stonypath, to exhibitions in this country (eg the Victoria Miro Gallery and the ICA, London), to galleries abroad (eg Fundacio Joan Miro, Barcelona, the Nolan Eckman Gallery, New York) and to private gardens and permanent collections.
